The General Ordinance of the Navy of 1912 [mar56] states in its Art. 1117 that the flag of the Vice-president shall be the national flag, with a white cross overall and on the center the national coat of arms. The width of the cross is 1/9 the fly.

The currently in-effect 1917-Constitution promulgated by Presidente Venustiano Carranza, erradicated the Vice-president position. Then, in the case of president's absence or indisposition, the presidence will be occupied temporaly by a person appointed by the National Congress, according the Constitutional articles 84º, 85º and 86º.
